A non-profit organization of performing artists

Light Music

The Pratidhwani Light Music Wing began humbly, simply as a collection of close friends who got together to sing and dance in each other’s company. But from those humble roots has emerged an increasingly popular and dynamic group. The Light Music Band showcases Pratidhwani’s pop music talents.

An increasingly accomplished collection of musicians, Pratidhwani has made its mark performing all over Seattle and the North-west (Richland, Boise, Portland), for quite a few well-known organizations. We have performed for many organizations notable among them are Hindu Society of Eastern Washington, Indian Cultural Association of Portland, Indian Association of Boise, Bengali Association of Washington (Uttoron), Rotary Club for the Tri-Cities, South Asian Film Festival, IAWW, UW Libraries, Northwest Folk Life Festival.

Pratidhwani's creative instincts have led it to explore every possible genre of light music, from Bollywood to Tollywood, Rabindra Sangeet to Folk Music and also music from Bangladesh and Pakistan. But far from resting on its laurels, Pratidhwani continues to grow, attracting new artists every day to its banner, and continuing to expand its artistic horizons to challenging new vistas.

Pratidhwani's mission is to nurture local talent in performing arts. If you have been looking for an avenue to grow your musical talents, lose yourself in discussions on the finer points of the newest tunes, take that mike and make the audience sway, then we are looking for you.
