Pratidhwani is saddened and appalled to learn of the horrific shootings in the Atlanta area earlier this week, killing six women of Asian descent. As Anti-Asian racist violence, hate crimes, and vandalism continue to occur across the country, in the nearby International District, and elsewhere in Seattle, we write to condemn these acts in the strongest possible terms, and affirm our stand in solidarity with our Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community members. Between March 19, 2020 and February 28, 2021, Stop AAPI Hate received over 3,795 firsthand accounts of anti-Asian hate incidents nationwide.
Pratidhwani is committed to the work of equity and justice that needs to be done against racism and xenophobia in our culture and our community. While working against racism we also recognize and celebrate our AAPI community members. We deeply value the presence and contributions of community members of Asian descent - at the local, national, and global level.
Pratidhwani conducted a Full Play Rehearsal Workshop - a 6 week, twice a week virtual acting class from Oct 28th - Dec 6th.
Viral Spiral Theatre Workshops - a series of sessions to help actors sharpen their skills virtually while we're unable to gather in person, are in progress. See details HERE.
The most recent installment of Play Around Club was held on Nov 21st with a reading of Madhuri Shekar's Monkey Love. Details HERE
